ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is currently investigating a series of major robbery incidents throughout the territory.

The RVIPF said this in a press release today, Thursday, October 23, 2025, giving an update on the current crime situation in territory.

Possible organised group

The press release reveals that several linked robberies are believed to involve an organised group

Robbery Investigation Officers are said to be making progress in what appears to be a series of linked robberies carried out by a coordinated criminal group operating across multiple districts.

Investigators confirmed the vehicle stolen in the robbery at Long Bay, Beef Island was later used in the Oasis incident.

Investigations are also ongoing into the Touchdown Bar and La Cachet robberies, with Officers analysing CCTV footage and awaiting ballistic and forensic results to establish whether weapons recovered from suspects are tied to these cases.

“Our detectives are working around the clock to bring those responsible to justice… We are confident that the evidence being gathered will lead to key breakthroughs. These incidents have our highest priority,” said Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Dariel Robinson

The release added that Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have arrested two males, in connection with a July robbery report at Pier Park, Tortola. The men were both interviewed and released pending further investigations.

Increased patrols continue

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Robinson added that the force remains fully engaged in both enforcement and prevention.

“We are addressing a wide spectrum of issues, and our officers continue to demonstrate professionalism and dedication in every division. We thank the public for their cooperation and encourage continued vigilance and partnership with the RVIPF,” stated Ag. DCP Robinson.

The RVIPF said officers of the Armed Response Unit (ARU) continue to deliver a strong and visible policing presence across the Territory with proactive patrols, operational checks, and school-based safety exercises designed to enhance public confidence and preparedness.

Although no weapons were recovered, the ARU’s steady engagement continues to promote safer communities.

Territory remains safe

The RVIPF also assured the public and the business community that the Virgin Islands is still a safe environment for commerce.

“Increased patrols, intelligence-sharing, and investigative focus are all part of ongoing efforts to protect the stability and growth of local businesses,” it added.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Robinson continued that a wide spectrum of issues are being addressed as officers continue to demonstrate professionalism and dedication in every decision.

“We thank the public for their cooperation and encourage continued vigilance and partnership with the RVIPF,” he said.

Anyone with information that may assist ongoing investigations are urged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or 284-800-8477 from overseas.

were these men released pending further investigations? Police take these criminal terrorist groups off our streets and stop releasing them for future investigations! Keep them locked up until the investigation is completed.

You guys arrest criminals for crimes they are already on bail for and still turn around and let them out on bail again. You don’t publish their names and faces and help to shelter their identity. You all are not serious!

Oh no. Please not a PRIORITY.

Look at the schools that are on PRIORITY that have not even started in 8 years. Roads on PRIORITY what a joke.
HOA Raise, oh sure that must have been on the SUPER SUPER PRIORITY cause that got done.

Get on the PRIORITY list things are never getting started.

It is definately defeating the purpose of the hard work of some of the officers to arrest someone for a serious crime, only for the court to grant them additiinal bail while on bail for previous criminal offences. Total madness
