RVIPF appeal to public for information about K’moi Walters’ murder

-said numerous lines of inquiry being pursued

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is appealing to members of the public who may have information about the July 6, 2026, murder of K'moi Walters.

Walter, 26, was the Virgin Islands’ (VI) first recorded homicide of 2026 after sustaining a gunshot wound during an incident in the early hours of July 6 at Huntum’s Ghut. He was transported to the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist the investigation to come forward. Even information that may seem insignificant could prove crucial to advancing the investigation,” the RVIPF said on July 8, 2026. 

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

Investigations continue

The RVIPF also said investigations into the fatal shooting are ongoing, led by detectives from the Major Incident Team, supported by other specialist units. They have been actively pursuing numerous lines of inquiry. 

The press release added that investigators have conducted extensive interviews and continue to follow multiple leads. 

The RVIPF said the investigation remains active, and officers are committed to identifying those responsible and bringing them to justice.

The public was thanked for its continued support and cooperation as investigations continue.

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool and the entire RVIPF extend sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr Walters during this difficult time.
