ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI— In the wake of a recent high-profile murder in the Territory, Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Kendrick Davis has categorically denied any current evidence of internal compromise within law enforcement agencies.

Responding to a direct question on Friday, May 16, 2025—during a press engagement—about whether any roles within the law enforcement community had been identified as compromised or complicit in ongoing investigations, Mr Davis was adamant in his response, “To answer your question, I would say no. We have not identified any roles in any law enforcement agency.”

Pressed for further clarification, Davis doubled down on his response, “None? None at all. I'm answering the specific question that you asked, and I take whatever follow-up you have, but you just allow me space to answer it.”

Shame on You!

According to the Deputy Commissioner, “As a police force, standing here, I think we have a record that we are always willing to look at ourselves and in that regard, I think we stand head and shoulders above every other organisation in this country.”

Qualifying his position further, he suggested, “This is the only organisation that has shown a willingness to investigate its own, make arrests, suspend, imprison, by ourselves.”

It was on January 15, 2025, that Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool disclosed that 12 officers were placed under investigation for misconduct, and that some of them were already arrested, charged, and awaiting court trials.

According to Mr Davis, the RVIPF is not waiting on anyone to do the investigating for them. “If I come to your house and see you sweeping, it says that there was some dirt, but you're taking care of it. It’s quite another matter if I come to your house and have to pull that broom. That would be shame on you.”

According to Deputy Commissioner Davis, “The RVIPF has always been willing to draw its own broom and sweep its own house.”

@ truth...it happens all over the world but we talking Tortola sic BVI. It's really bad here. smile in your face ten knives in your back as you walk away. Its not going to go away anytime because MAN has been evil from the beginning of time. leadership is about getting re-elected or continuing to work in their managerial job heading up a government department or company administration. You have some real men and women in the community but they either served their time or just do not want to get involved. This life is real.

Do something different from the man you are replacing, vet officers out of the police vehicle and offices and get them to work, put them where they arr most needed, on the streets, in the communities, visibility is key to prdvention, lots of rentals with dark, dark block outs, Mobeds driving crazy, no helmet on rider or passenger, the block out rentals and the scooterz are the two lethal moving weapons on our streets. Time for them to give value for money, or move out the way and let someone new who can get the job done in..

looks like police and politicians have one thing in common

Police continues to talk a lot about the criminal lawlessness going on in this Territory

Politician gets into house of assembly and fuss a lot better NDP, VIP, PVIM & APP

My goodness won’t like Tortola to be any bigger because the Police have issues maintaining Law & Order while the Political People cannot fix the problems with infrastructure for the people
