Runway maintenance forces 10-day closure of VG airport

TADDY BAY, Virgin Gorda, VI- The Taddy Bay Airport on Virgin Gorda will be closed for 10 days from Tuesday, August 29, 2023, to facilitate maintenance to the runway, the BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) has informed.

Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority, Mr Kurt A.G. Menal said the closure from Tuesday to Thursday, September 7, 2023, is necessary to facilitate the airport’s annual runway maintenance programme.

Mr Menal in a press release today, August 28, 2023, urged travelers with confirmed tickets for travel during the period of closure to contact their respective airlines directly for information regarding their travel.

According to the press release, Mr Menal thanks the traveling public in Virgin Gorda for their patience and cooperation as the authority seeks to uphold its motto of “Safety is our #1 Priority”.

Persons are also being encouraged to contact the Operations Department at telephone number (284) 394- 8000 or via email at ops@bviaa.com should they have any queries or concerns regarding the closure.
