RTW boasts Caribbean's largest rooftop solar installation

PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Road Town Wholesale Trading Ltd (RTW) proudly marked the completion of the Caribbean's largest rooftop solar installation during a press conference at the RTW Support Centre in Road Town, Tortola, on July 9, 2026.

$1.9M investment

According to RTW, the $1.9 million investment at its Pasea Estate location reflects its long-term commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible corporate leadership.

"Delivered in partnership with the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) and YourEco, the 1-megawatt rooftop solar installation is expected to supply approximately 30% of RTW Pasea's annual electricity demand, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuel-generated electricity while strengthening energy resilience for years to come."

As a majority-owned subsidiary of The North West Company (NWC), RTW said it is proud to contribute to NWC's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy by investing in solutions that create lasting benefits for the communities it serves.

RTW extended sincere appreciation to Minister for Communications and Works, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5); the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation; YourEco; project partners, invited guests, members of the media, "and the dedicated RTW team whose vision and commitment made this milestone possible.

"Together, we're investing in a cleaner, stronger and more sustainable future for the British Virgin Islands, RTW stated.

    great effort, I'm curious how long it need to be operational for ROI. for this use case solar panels need to be 50% + efficient

    1 megawatt of solar panels , I have 11kw thay have 1000kw so why is that only going to run 1/3 of their bill, it should even feed back to the grid
