RTW boasts Caribbean's largest rooftop solar installation
$1.9M investment
According to RTW, the $1.9 million investment at its Pasea Estate location reflects its long-term commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible corporate leadership.
"Delivered in partnership with the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) and YourEco, the 1-megawatt rooftop solar installation is expected to supply approximately 30% of RTW Pasea's annual electricity demand, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuel-generated electricity while strengthening energy resilience for years to come."
As a majority-owned subsidiary of The North West Company (NWC), RTW said it is proud to contribute to NWC's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy by investing in solutions that create lasting benefits for the communities it serves.
RTW extended sincere appreciation to Minister for Communications and Works, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5); the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation; YourEco; project partners, invited guests, members of the media, "and the dedicated RTW team whose vision and commitment made this milestone possible.
"Together, we're investing in a cleaner, stronger and more sustainable future for the British Virgin Islands, RTW stated.
