ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town has partnered with the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) as part of the club’s commitment to nurturing the next generation through vocational guidance and life skills training.

Sunrisers recently participated in a transformative programme at YEP, where members engaged directly with the Virgin Islands (VI) youth, sharing essential life skills and etiquette ideas to equip young participants for future success, a press release from the club stated.

The initiative, led by club President Faye Smith Penn and Rotarian Dr Albert L. Thompkins, cast the spotlight on the vital role of vocation in Rotary’s mission to build stronger communities.

"Our youth are the gems of the BVI, and we must continue to invest in them in as many ways as we can… through programmes like this at YEP, Rotary Club Sunrise is proud to impart vocational tools that empower young people to thrive in their careers and contribute meaningfully to our territory,” stated President Penn.

A global dedication to youth

Rotary's core principle of vocation—fostering professional growth, ethical leadership, and practical expertise —and the initiative underscored Rotary’s global dedication to youth empowerment, aligning with district and international efforts to develop future leaders.

“By blending etiquette training, vocational experience with real-world life skills, Sunrisers are helping BVI youths to navigate professional landscapes with confidence and integrity,” the release added.
