Rotary Club of Central Tortola supports Diabetes Association with cash donation

The contribution was made possible following the club’s Installation Dinner & Auction on June 14, 2025, where the winner of the evening’s special activity, Mrs. Jean Vanterpool, selected the BVI Diabetes Association as the beneficiary of $250.
Youth Services Director Eileen Bourke, through her business Mi Amor, donated an additional $250, bringing the total to $500.
Small but meaningful actions
In a statement to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), President of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola, Zoe J. Walcott, said, “This initiative reflects how Rotary’s impact often grows from small but meaningful actions. The generosity of our members and partners allows us to channel support where it is needed most.”
The club, she said, is honoured to stand with the BVI Diabetes Association in their mission.
“The fight against diabetes is a fight for healthier families and a stronger Virgin Islands. As Rotarians, we are committed not only to giving financial support but also to raise awareness and foster healthier lifestyles.”
Ms Walcott also encouraged the wider community to support the BVI Diabetes Association, saying, “When we invest in health, we invest in our future.”
