BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- The Rotary Club of Central Tortola (RCCT) has introduced a new radio programme, aimed at inspiring volunteerism within communities across the Virgin Islands (VI).

The half-hour programme, titled Rotary Spotlight, will be broadcast on ZBVI RADIO 780 AM every last Wednesday of the month at 8:30 AM.

This programme will highlight various initiatives, share information about Rotary, and invite the public to provide feedback.

Zoe J. Walcott, the President of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola (RCCT), will be the host.

'It's a movement'

During the inaugural show on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Walcott emphasised that the show focuses on connection—connecting with the community, service, and purpose—building on this year’s Rotary theme: Unite for Good.

"This isn't just a broadcast; it's a movement, a space where we bring Rotary to you. We will share stories, initiatives, and impactful projects that are improving our islands," Walcott stated.

The programme aims to spotlight unsung heroes, address real issues, and encourage locals to participate in the conversation.

Walcott mentioned that the launch coincides with Club Membership and New Club Development Month in August.

"This is a time when Rotary clubs around the world are opening their doors and hearts to welcome new energy and innovative ideas."

Membership drive

At the RCCT, Walcott expressed the intention to grow stronger together by fostering a vibrant and diverse membership that reflects the strength and spirit of the community.

She further noted, "Whether you're a young professional, a seasoned leader, or simply someone with a heart for service, we want to meet you, hear from you, and walk with you on this journey of service above self."

The Rotary Club of Central Tortola (RCCT) is part of Rotary International and is dedicated to serving the community and the world, promoting peace and goodwill through friendship and professional leadership.

Chartered in January 2021, the club comprises dedicated professionals from the Virgin Islands (VI) who are passionate about community service and making a positive and lasting impact through various projects and humanitarian initiatives.
