ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As a part of the Rotaract Club of Tortola’s continued commitment to promoting literacy and international understanding within the Virgin Islands; representatives of the Club visited the Bregado Flax Educational Centre Primary Division and the Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School on Virgin Gorda on September 17 & 18, 2012 respectively.

The Club presented each of the schools with 30 Oxford First Learner’s Spanish Dictionaries, which will be rotated every year amongst the students. The Oxford First Learner’s Dictionaries are more reader-friendly for Primary School students as they include pictures, colours and a larger font size.

The Principals, Mr. Hilroy George and Ms. Norma Creque, as well as Spanish Teacher, Mrs. Dore expressed their gratitude for the donation. Each school also had a student respondent thank the Rotaract Club in Spanish for the Dictionaries.

The Rotaract Club of Tortola holds meetings every Friday at the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports at 5:30pm. The meetings feature speakers, discussions and visits to other clubs. Rotaractors also get together for service projects, social activities and leadership workshops.
