Rotaract continues to serve and bond with Interactors

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - On Saturday March 23, 2013 the Rotaract Club of Tortola and the Interact Club of Road Town continued their joint service project of cleaning the mangroves in Sea Cow’s Bay. This project was also attended my members of the Rotaract Club of St. Thomas II and the Rotaract Club of St. Thomas UVI. Debris which ranged from improperly discarded bottles and cans to pallets, household appliances, automotive parts and an old boat to name a few, were removed from the mangroves. Interactors and

The following week, on Thursday March 28, in strides to maintain and strengthen the bond with our younger sibling club, the Rotaractors planned and executed an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt for the Interactors. Clever yet simple clues, led two teams of excited Interactors throughout Road Town in search of treat-filled eggs to such places as the Elmore Stoutt High School, Sunny Caribbee and the Craft Alive Village to name a few. The Hunt culminated in the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park where the winning team (who won by mere minutes) were congratulated by the Rotaractors and awarded a prize by President Jehree Clarke.

Rotaract is an international club for persons ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference within their community. The Rotaract Club of Tortola started in June 1984 by sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Tortola. This year’s club motto is, “Be passionate about what you do today for a brighter tomorrow.”

Rotaract Club of Tortola meets every Friday at the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (Ward Bldg.) at 5:30pm. The meetings feature speakers, discussions, visits from other clubs and at all times, fun. Rotaractors also get together for service projects, social activities and leadership workshops.
