BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI– Despite declaring a woman as the next premier of the Virgin Islands (VI), talk show host and clergyman Claude O. Skelton-Cline has recommended former legislator and leader of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) Mr Ronnie W. Skelton as a formidable leader in the VI.

“I think Ronnie W. Skelton has what it takes at this point in time to give formidable, credible, thoughtful leadership to this country,” he said during the September 1, 2022, of his Honestly Speaking Show on ZBVI 780am.

Skelton-Cline detailed that Mr Skelton was a member of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) before becoming a founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), which allowed him to serve as Deputy Premier and then as Minister of Finance before becoming a founder of the PVIM.

According to the commentator, Mr Skelton has "demonstrated both in the private and in the public sector to be a steady and assured and a confident and a courageous hand. He would be a good person at this point in history,” Skelton-Cline added.

He said despite his non-support for Mr Skelton in the 2019 elections, his reasoning was that the timing was not right given that Mr Skelton had only just broken away from the National Democratic Party to form PVIM.

“And so Ronnie W. Skelton will be an excellent choice if you are speaking of men…to give leadership at this particular juncture,” he said.

The clergyman detailed that Mr Skelton knows the people, understands the system, knows the dynamics of the region and international [issues], and still has something of tremendous value and worth in which to contribute to this country.

Skelton-Cline added that even if Mr Skelton can function in places like the Ministry of Finance, it would be a tremendous contribution outside of a leadership position.

“Even if he doesn't opt to give leadership, he still would be an excellent person on a team,” he said while revealing that he has not spoken to Mr Skelton about mentioning his name.

Nah nah it’s time to get rid of the old yard fowls especially those that done lose their tails and let the new and upcoming game hens and roosters take control. We had enough of this rotations of the same faces every year. These guys gonna just put more people in position to run more dope. Don’t get me wrong the dope can’t stop whether we like it or not. But if they raise the pay of the workers in the country, the people that’s not greedy and just looking to be comfortable in life would leave the dope game alone.

Because we like to beg the politicians for what is not theirs we are in the position we are in now. Then we go on the side and speak about them giving away the government's money but the citizens are responsible for that because they beg whether they need or not when they find soft politicians.

For God sake, why dont Claude take a vacation and give his mouth some rest. Young man you said you are a servant of God, but Gos is not the author of confusion, and all you are doing is confusing the masses and you at the end of the day seem to be very, very confused yourself.

In the name of Jesus, what is your agenda and what are you trying to achieve? You first came out bold and clear with your prophecy which may have come from hell when you said the Hon Janice Pierra should be the next and first woman Premier in BVI. Mind you, this was your prophecy. Then you came back and said and presented 4 women whome you think one of them could be premier, Then you came bak again and said Naija Christopher, now for the nerve you got, you are now presenting Ronnie Skelton.
Here lies the confusion. Is Ronnie Skelton a Woman? You said we need a new political party, is Ronnie's party a new party? When will you stop all this propaganda and confusion? If you are who you said you are, you really need to stop this. Is this to condone and get contracts when the time comes? You are doing a very miserable job to say the list. Please stop. Set the people of God and BVI free.

We won't see credible leadership in the VI unless the candidates are open to governmental reform. The system is broken and an incubator for cronyism, nepotism, fraud, and corruption. There has to be built-in protection from those possibilities.

As far as I known, and now do partly know, all past and present politicians that have served as political leaders of the people of the BVI, all have failed in some areas of the position they held and are holding.
Claude Skeleton Cline is not a real prophet,in my honest opinion. He has spoken his desires, and his opinion,as is his rights.
However, that does not means that Claude Skeleton Cline is wrong about every thing that he said.
I cannot say for sure that what he has said about the former NDP financial and Health Minister Mr. Ronnie Skelton would or should come to pass, but this I know for sure that Mr Ronnie Skelton has contributed greatly as a former financial Minister. He has also made wrong decisions, as have all the past ones have, and the present one is.

One of Mr. Ronnie Skelton past decision that has, and still continuing benefiting all government employees, present cabinet and opposition members is tax has, and is not payable one the first ten thousand dollars of salary. Those that made, and are making less that ten thousand dollars are not eligible to tax.
Under the late former Chief Minister, three and a half percent was the figure. It was under former NDP cabinet, Mr. Ronnie Skelton been Minister of Finance first increased the said figure from 3.5% to 5%, and to 10%.
I am not giving praise to Mr. Claude Skeleton Cline, but neither will I ruled out that Mr. Ronnie Skelton may not be needed in his capacity of financial management.

The world is at this time experiencing a recession. Good governance is not void of good money management. Mr. Ronnie Skelton has proven that he is one, if not the best local business manager of money. The evidence of this truth is visible for all to see, even the half blind.
For many years to come, the UK will oversee the BVI political leaders management of our finances, thanks to the CoI probed into the mismanagement of our finances
At this time when our economy is so hard pressed for good governance, we should not count out a successful business man as or former NDP financial Minister Ronnie is. Yes we need youths, but experience must not be ignored, in spite of past mistakes.

The past is gone. The present is now. The future will come. Past decisions have affected the present. Present decisions will have positive blessings or negative consequences even, and in the future.

None, but God our Creator is perfect.

The majority of the people living in the BVI are crooked minded. Most don't know neither who we really are, and wbere we are going, and what is best for us at this time.. I hope that between now and next general election we will make good choices, that will propelled our country in a better than now direction course than we are now heading. Love, faith, good planning, courage, integrity, forgiveness, good judgement are needful. If not, we will remain at odds with each others. A people that is at odds with each other is like a dog trying to catch its tail.
Let us not concentrate on CSC preference on who he think or not think will make a credible leader.
What we now know is that we need, for sure better leaders in orders to experience better governance.
This truth is a fact that should not be taken lightly. If take lightly, a great majority of this country will experience greater suffering in the future, that they have in the past and present because of disunity based on the foundations selfishness and pure ignorance.
Why is this a truth factual? Because any people that does not admit and desire to repent of internal corruption is on a fast lane track to failure. Genuine love, faith, workable nowledge, and wisdom are the key
to unlock that shackles that have us in boundaged. Until then, round and round and round we go, when we stop only God knows.

Except for Fahie and Hon. Maduro Caines, we have a whole host of young, fresh, bright politicians in the House of Assembly. That is what the people wanted and that is what they got. It seems that the biggest problem was their leader was not capable and ran the Government like a one-man enterprise and he was CEO of his own corporation. So $400 plus million left the Treasury every year since, three and a half so far, and we can point to nothing of substance, except the High School, that was done with all of that money. So all the bloggers who are saying doing the same thing and expecting different results, well, this new, young Government has failed with a capital F. So we must try that again? I am not saying we do not need some fresh faces, but looking at the state of the country and our finances, you are sending new people in there to guess? Because nobody there who are new got anything done, they just watched Fahie move and we know how he moved. They did this because they have no idea what to do. So let us not fall for this fresh new face talk again and count out people like Ronnie Skelton, because everyone who he worked with while Finance Minister and Health Minister can testify that he is gifted and black. Gifted in what, Management, Finances and futuristic thinking. Hon. Rymer who seems to be loved by all could learn from him how to fill a damn pot hole because not even in his District can he dispatch Public Works to patch the roads. A new, fresh face Government will be playing catch up the first two years and we cannot afford that right now unless they are experienced in Government processes. So you want new members in the House, well they better be assertive, with excellent management skills and financial wizardry or we will be so far gone into the wilderness by the next election we will never find our way out.

So while I never agree with Mr. Skelton Cline, he is certainly right in this instance. I would vote for Ronnie Skelton again and again to lead this country. My opinion is we made a bad mistake last time not given him the helm and we are now paying for it dearly. Of course Skelton Cline would not have gotten all these contracts he got.
