Rikkoi A.R. Brathwaite breaks Dion Crabbe’s decades old 100m National Record

- in placing 5th in 100m Finals of 2022 NACAC Open Championships

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, Bahamas- Known for his exploits in the 60m indoor events, sprinter Rikkoi A.R. Brathwaite is the new National Record Holder of the Men’s 100m.

Competing at the ongoing 2022 NACAC Open Championships, at Freeport, the Bahamas on Saturday, August 20, 2022, Brathwaite blazed a speedy 10.20 seconds (wind -0.4mps) in the finals of the 100m to place 5th.

Although missing out on a podium finish, Brathwaite established a new Personal Best and a new Virgin Islands’ National Record, breaking Dion Crabbe’s 20-year-old 100m National Record of 10.25 seconds.

Brathwaite is also the VI’s National Record Holder in the 60m.

McMaster in 400m Hurdles Final today

Meanwhile, defending champion Kyron A. McMaster will be in action in the final of the Men’s 400m Hurdles today.

That event is scheduled for 3:35 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022.
