BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Barbadian megastar Rihanna was recently home for the holidays on a flying visit during which she made a massive donation to the island’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), only to be subsequently disturbed by a gatecrasher whose surprise intrusion reportedly prompted her return to the United States on Christmas Eve.

The highlight of the Unapologetic girl’s trip was the presentation of a whopping US$1.75 million (Bds$3.5 million) to the country’s major medical facility, which the international recording star donated in honour of the memory of her beloved grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Brathwaite, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.

The Diamonds hitmaker went on to try to grab some much needed R&R with family and friends, only to have her downtime disrupted by a  German gatecrasher who infiltrated the luxury West Coast property where she was based.

According to Britain’s Daily Mail, “Rihanna’s idyllic paradise getaway with family and friends was ruined when a man identified as a German national gatecrashed her relaxing party. The male fan allegedly attempted to make his way inside the star’s house as she spent her day with friends.”

The newspaper went on to quote the TMZ website as saying that the man, who was wearing nothing but a pair of swimming trunks, was quickly ushered away by Rihanna’s security team after making his way into the property.

The British tabloid further reported TMZ as stating the matter was a “giant misunderstanding” and that Rihanna “no longer felt safe in the grounds of the mansion and decided to leave on Christmas Eve”.

The Royal Barbados Police Force nevertheless downplayed the notion that the episode had posed any threat to Rihanna, saying that there was no actual confrontation and the matter was not a cause for alarm.

“From our investigations, no one was harmed or in direct danger,” Inspector David Welch, police public relations officer, stated, adding that the police did their duty and cleared the man of any wrongdoing.

Rihanna jetted back to the United States and was subsequently photographed on Christmas Day with Chris Brown at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.

The incident at the glitzy West Coast villa has called into question the likelihood of the We Found Love star’s rumoured New Year “bonding holiday” with Brown, his mother, and her family in Barbados, which became a hot topic on the celebrity gossip circuit late last month.
