Restricted businesses told to 'ready facilities' for Sunday opening
According to a newly gazetted Imposition of a Curfew (No. 15) Order, 2020, published on May 6, 2020, "Notwithstanding section 4 [approved businesses], all businesses and establishments not listed under that section shall be allowed to open from the date this Order comes into force."
Businesses would be subjected to inspection
The Order says the sole purpose of the opening is to make adaptations for Social Distancing, Hygiene requirements and for inspection by the Social Distancing and Monitoring Task Force in preparation for reopening from Sunday 'as approved'.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) announced on May 5, 2020, that the current 1:00 pm to 6:00 am Territory-wide curfew will be lifted for seven more hours, starting Sunday, May 10, 2020, for a two-week timeframe and will now be in place from 07:00 pm to 06:00 am daily.
The decision for businesses to prepare their facilities comes as the Premier noted that the move to relax restrictions with greater opening of the economy came with confidence in the work that public health officials have been doing so far to address the COVID-19 pandemic in the Territory.
Money Transfer Services can ready facilities
It is unclear if Money Transfer Services will be allowed to operate under the new curfew act starting Sunday; however, that category of business would also fall under the list of those who must now ready their facilities.
