ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - In more ease of COVID-19 restrictions, as the government executes its local economic reboot, approved restaurants will now be able to host individuals for dine-in services.

According to a May 23, 2020, Gazetted Imposition of a Curfew (No. 18) Order, 2020, "Cabinet decided that restaurants will be allowed to re-open for dining purposes in accordance with the social distancing guidelines, effective May 24, 2020."

As such, restaurants can operate with person on-premises from 6:01 a.m. to 6:59 p.m. daily, provided that such businesses or establishments have been inspected, approved and certified by the Social Distancing Monitoring Task Force.

Several other businesses remain closed

However, even as restaurants will now be allowed to serve customers; hotels, villas or other accommodation facilities, public swimming pools, cinemas, gyms, bars, night clubs and other entertainment facilities will still remain closed.

For restaurant owners, they will have to ensure that staff and customers adhere to social distancing protocols and put in place relevant sanitisation measures.

They will also have to ensure that allowance is made for staff and employees to report to and leave work within the imposed curfew hours.

Economic reboot? Keep convincing yourselves that the BVI businesses can make any money with borders closed and half the population jobless, while government says nothing about any assistance programs to support said businesses.

Social distancing is b.s, the masks cant stop sneezes and coughs, the fact that we outside means we can get sick, so it makes no sense to kill our economy over something we can't stop, let people live normally again

What about going to the gym daily then going to the supermarket to buy junk food, then go to a restaurant and eat the same? Most of us are missing what we never used. After all of this is over you will see the same people in the gyms, on the beaches, or on the track. Look at the people who are doing daily early exercise on our street. You will realize that they are the same people who have been doing those things for years. They are the ones who have been creating a balance for a long time.

That looks like a buffet. Not allowed.

Restaurants are about food , service and ambiance.

Not much service if you have to order on your phone and not much ambiance if you are spaced miles apart.

I do not expect a rush to eat out.
