    “Yes” “insurance “
Did either of you read and understand that it was a rental vehicle?
What insurance claim does a person have driving a rental?

I don't think you understand what "insurance" meant. It is the vehicle owner who will be making a claim, sometimes they are in cahoots with the driver of the vehicle.
