Rehabilitation works @ Sabbath Hill will commence on Tuesday

SABBATH HILL, Tortola, VI–Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5), has announced that rehabilitation works on the Sabbath Hill road will commence on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. ; therefore, residents and motorists are being advised to use an alternate route to access this area.

Funded by a 100-million-dollar loan

The Rehabilitation works on the road in Sabbath Hill will take approximately 6 months and is funded through the $100 million loan.  

"This is one of the areas we've identified for work to be done from the 100 million dollar loan," the minister stated in a Facebook interview with Communication Specialist with the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr Dean H. Greenaway, aka 'The Sportsman', on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The $100 million loan facility with CIBC, signed on October 31, 2024, is expected to fund critical infrastructure development across the Territory, aligning with the 2024-2026 Medium-Term Fiscal Plan and Medium-Term Debt Strategy.

With the commencement of the works on the road in Sabbath Hill, the Minister for Communication and Works advised that residents and motorists in the area are asked to use the alternate route next to the Hope Hill Church of God of Prophecy and to exercise caution. 

"So as work begins, we just want the motorists and the residents in the area to be aware of the works that will be taking place in this area, and we ask for your patience. We ask that you use an alternate route."

Scope of the project 

In the meantime, Mr Greenaway described the scope of the works to be undertaken during this project.
