SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – The local fungi band Razor Blades is well poised to fulfil the popular demand for their music as very soon they would be releasing their first album according to the Public Relations Officer Mr Aaron F. Parillon.

Mr Parillon is also one of the lead singers in the band and told Virgin Islands News Online that the band which is about some four years old will be responding to popular demand by producing their first album. “When we play people are always asking for CDs and we don’t have to give them and that is one of our main reasons for going in this direction,” he said.

The Razor Blades band plays strictly ‘fungi’ music using the traditional instruments of their forefathers and those of today including the pick, congo, banjo, gaiter, polito aka block, squash, cowbell, triangle aka steel and the base guitar.

The band is still in their infancy stages of the production of the album with just about two more songs to be produced of some 10 songs. “This is something that needs to happen in us becoming an elite band. we have a lot of very good songs that we really need to get out there.”

While they have not yet ventured beyond the boundaries of these Virgin Islands (VI) Mr Parillon said that they have been playing territory wide and have gone to almost all the islands of the VI. Their most recent outing was at the Full Moon party last Friday February 14, 2014 at Trellis Bay.

The demand for their music especially by tourists was witnessed firsthand by this news site. It was Valentine’s night and couples, families and otherwise persons were out at the Trellis Bay Full moon party.

Everyone, persons of all races, colour and creed was obviously prepared to party to the fullest extent that the Razor Blades could have played. Even as they played several persons were seen approaching members of the band requesting copies of their music which regrettably was not available.

Some of their most popular songs include ‘Carry Me Back’, ‘Love on the Mountain’ and ‘Asphalt’. It has been approximately four months since the band members commenced working on their album which they are confident will go like ‘hot cakes’. Currently they are still toiling with a few ideas for the name of the album which they are confident they will make a final and the best decision by the time they have completed the production of the songs.

Mr Parillon said that they are very grateful to their fans for showing such love and appreciation for their music which he describes as very rheumatic and lyrical. The album is set to be released well in advance of the Easter season and is being recorded at Home Grown Studios. This news site will sure be the first to break the news of its release.

This man Relishes exciting music and i think they should not be classed with Lashing Dogs or any other Fungi band there is because they play a different style of music its more like Rock music. I love them at the Full Moon Parties i think they make people dance and i have heard them sing three of their new songs as Aaron said they were and i love that one something like a Walts.
