R.A.Y.D.A.R. Ent. CEO to work with Hashim in December
Daniels is also looking to bring a number of professionals in the music industry to work with the local acts to bring them up to par with international expectations.
This was disclosed by Mr. Daniels at a press conference yesterday March 21, 2012 at the Moorings Conference Room. He was speaking via Skype from Atlanta, USA.
Mr. Daniels said himself and team, which would include Planet VI (formerly Rock City) as well as engineers, would be looking to come for a week in December .“We have already started talking about it. We will be bringing some professionals in each field to kind of just show the kids what these people are looking for to help them with their songs, stage presence and everything that they need to be ready because you really can’t be mad with someone if they don’t know any better. I feel like all the kids that were performing (Top 7@& Awards) were doing what they thought was the best. Rock City (Planet VI) has volunteered, I got engineers volunteering, I got everybody volunteering and all of a sudden Tortola is an island everybody wants to go to.”
The CEO also said he would be looking to bring some of the best choreographers in the business for next year’s Awards including Laurieann Gibson, who is famous for working with Lady Gaga, Diddy and Keri Hilson; Jamaica, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Ciara and Usher and; Award-wining choreographer Fatima Robinson—who is the mastermind behind routines for pop like The Black Eyed Peas , Gwen Stefani and the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. “I want to bring them down so that they can pay attention to the dancers because there are people who make careers just dancing alone,” Daniels said.
Meanwhile, Daniels said Hashim Lewis was on superstar mode at the Top 7@7 Awards and noted the performance of Sef as well but promised to personally work with Hashim when he comes. “When we do this thing in December I just want to say personally, I am going to come down there myself and work with Hashim and give him some training because I really thought he has something special and I am going to donate my time to him because I feel like he understands.”
Hashim told Virgin Islands News Online he felt honoured to be singled out by R.A.Y.D.A.R. Entertainment even though the day was about Monea being selected to go to Atlanta just as Travie Rozae recently did. “I feel honoured that he is going to be coming and working with me personally. I definitely look forward to that but all congratulations to Monea. She works hard, she is an incredible artiste with an amazing stage presence and I know she will do really well just like Travie.”
Sef, who was also at the press conference yesterday told this news agency the Top 7@7 Awards Show was a good experience for him and now his intention is to work on bettering himself. “It was a good feeling to know that it was the first time that I was a part of it and that people out there appreciated my performance, including the labels. So it is just something to just take right now and just move on and get better.”
In fact so impressed were the Music Recording Executives with the Follow The Movement’s 5th Top 7@7 Awards Show that Mr. Daniels said Devyne Stephens, of UpFront Records, has been talking to agents about making the Top 7@7 Awards a television show. “These guys were really impressed about what we put on for them,” Daniels said.
