Ray adds some sugar to spicy season!

Ray Victor is on course for his best season so far despite being fouled out 3 times in 10 games for the Warner University Royals.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Despite Ray Victor connecting on a pair of free throws to put the No. 18 Warner University Royals in front 29-28 at the break, No. 13 Jamestown College hit back to win the matchup of NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball teams, 60 – 56 on December 19, 2011.

The loss drops the Royals to 7-4 heading into the Christmas break while the Jimmies (12-3) pick up their second Top 20 victory in three days following their win over No. 15 Southeastern University on Saturday night.

Despite those two free throws, overall, Victor had an off night with his shooting. He recorded just 1 of 7 field goals, 1 of 6 attempted 3’s, picked up 1 offensive rebound , turned the ball over once and added 1 block in 21 minutes playing time.

Victor and his team mates get to rest up over the Christmas break and return to action on December 30 for the start of the Holiday Inn Express Invitational Tournament hosted by Warner University. The Royals’ first game will be against Geants St. Jean Collegial (Canada) at 5 p.m.

In their first game of the Crooked Lake Classic in December the no. 18 Warner University men’s basketball team was upended by Reinhardt University (Ga.) 96-81.

The Royals lacked any perimeter threat the entire game and could not overcome a two-point halftime deficit in their first regular season game in 13 days.

Victor finished the first half with 10 points and 5 rebounds, going onto finish the game with a double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes playing time.

On day two the Royals bounced back cruising past Union University (Ky.) 89-62. The Royals made up for their lack of three point shooting against Reinhardt, connecting on 13-of-21 three pointers in the victory.

Ray Victor had a double-digit performance, scoring a hard fought 15 points including 6 of 7 field goals. He added a 75 % success rate from the free throw line and recorded 1 rebound in 23 minutes on the court.

The Bulldogs were no match for the Royals hot shooting; for the game the Royals shot 60.3% from the field and a sizzling 61.9% from three point range.

So far this season Victor has averaged 25 minutes playing time, starting all 10 of the games played. He has made 36 off 55 field goal attempts for an average of 55%, made 7 of 20 attempted 3’s and has a 68.4% success rate from the free throw line.

Unfortunately he has also fouled out 3 times in the 10 games.

In total he has scored 105 points and also recorded 44 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 blocks and 13 steals.
