ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Although she had served as Acting Governor before, it was the first time on September 30, 2026, that former legislator R. Dancia Penn-Sallah, OBE, KC, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands.

The former Deputy Governor is serving as Acting Governor in the absence of Governor Daniel Pruce and Deputy Governor Mr David D. Archer, Jr, who are both out of the Territory.

Among those who attended the Cabinet Meeting were Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7); Minister for Communications and Works, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5); Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon Sharie B. de Castro; Acting Attorney General, Hon Jo-Ann Williams Roberts; and Cabinet Secretary Sandra I. Ward.

A post-meeting statement has not yet been released by Cabinet.
