SCRUB ISLAND, VI- Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina has been named the official homeport for PYPER Yachts in the Virgin Islands (VI) beginning November 2025.

The announcement was made in a press release on October 2, 2025, which said this adds one of the Caribbean’s premier private-island resorts to the company’s growing network of luxury bases.

Departing from Scrub Island’s 55-slip marina, the PYPER fleet will offer fully crewed charters for up to 10 guests, pairing custom itineraries with the highest levels of service. Each voyage features a professional captain and private chef, with larger yachts including additional crew to ensure an uncompromising experience, the release added.

Charters are available for a minimum of four nights, with most spanning a full week of sailing across the British Virgin Islands.

The perfect launchpad for PYPER’s fleet

Heinrych Pyper, CEO of PYPER Yacht, said, “Scrub Island Resort and its world-class marina are the perfect launchpad for our fleet…We specialise in creating immersive sailing journeys that deliver the comfort of a private villa, the service of a boutique resort, and the freedom of the open sea.”

With Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina as its new homeport allows PYPER to bring its signature style of yacht charter to one of the world’s most desirable cruising grounds, Mr Pyper added.

The company already has existing bases in Yacht Haven Grande in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canouan in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

A new dimension of Caribbean exploration

Sandra Grisham-Clothier, General Manager of Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, said they are thrilled to welcome PYPER Yachts to their Marina Village.

“Together we are introducing guests to a new dimension of Caribbean exploration, combining the exclusivity and amenities of Scrub Island with the adventure and indulgence of a private yacht charter.”

Apparently a high class clientele will come and spend a lot of money. But not a penny at our restaurants or shops or even taxiss, as they will just be in their luxuries surroundings in Scrub island. But welcome to the BVI to them anyhow

Maybe they don’t spend Penny because you don’t offer proper customer service?

Good to know how the wealthy lives. Few are the belongers that can afford Pyper Yachts, or even a Moorings one.

Why should I be thankful or not. Fancy yachts, scrub island don’t give me anything, and never have. They just cater to rich people from somewhere else. You also know nothing about me to be able to describe as messy or anything else. Yours, whoopdedoo.

The reality is these are USVI businesses that used to have yachts come and sail and do business and bring money here anyway.
Since we taxed that money supply out of business they are coming in and basing here and taking the place of BVI companies. So now we have no boats coming in from the USVI and the same boats here as before but now run by US outfits.

So less business overall and less money in the economy.

That's doing business the VI way.

Let's hope these companies will be hiring Virgin Islander captains, deck hands, and so, and so, and not bringing them from the US Virgin Islands, under the guises of " work permits"!

Lots of our people are in need of real high paying jobs. And we all know, the marine industry had some of the highest!
