Public offficers recognised for their many years of service

-over 700 public officers received certificates & tokens of appreciation

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Over seven hundred (700) public officers were recognised for their service during a Public Service Employee Recognition Ceremony which was held by the Office of the Deputy Governor and the Department of Human Resources.

The ceremony, held as part of Public Service Week, saw these officers receiving certificates and token of appreciation for ten, twenty, and thirty years of service, a press release from the Deputy Governors Office on December 13, 2024, said.

The event held in November aimed at collectively recognising public officers who have displayed a significant commitment to the Public Service through their time with the organisation.

Public officers’ work lays the blocks for VI development- Mrs DaBreo-Lettsome

Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Sharleen S. DaBreo-Lettsome reminded public officers that they are at the core of the Territory’s advancement.

“I promise you this, every time you clock into work, every stroke of pen, every day you turn your computer on and every meeting, lays the blocks for the development of the Virgin Islands we envision. The Virgin Islands we want to see for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren,” she said.

Mrs DaBreo-Lettsome also thanked public officers for their sacrifices, brilliance and dedication.

“You are beyond appreciated,” she stated.

Congratulatory remarks were also made by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Daniel Pruce and Deputy Governor, Mr David D. Archer Jr who expressed their profound gratitude to the public officers for their years of service and thanked them for their dedication throughout trying times.

    awards are nice but they can't pay bills, give those of us who do the real work proper salaries that are in line with standards paid by other countries

      You are a jealous person. If they did nothing you won't have, passports, pay taxes, get fishing licenses, buy land, water, garbage collection to name a few services you benefit from.

    Wow and leaving out the healthcare workers again. What category do they fall under please vip government and governor?

      Healthcare workers fall under the BVIHSA. They should be the ones to hand out such recognition. They are the ones who would evaluate all their employees. I will note however, we are a statutory body under the government.
