ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The public is invited to spend this Friday reconnecting with parents, children, siblings and nieces and nephews in the first observance of Family Fridays on Friday, August 5, 2022.

On this Friday and every first Friday of the month, families are encouraged to reset values and restore hearts for the sake of the child, the young man or woman, and the elders within the community.

Gather in backyards or at a restaurant where sizeable discounts are offered for parties of seven or more. Participating restaurants are listed on the Facebook page - Family Fridays BVI.

Collect a discount card at the front of the Road Town Police Station or at Police Headquarters. Take photos of your gatherings, post them with the hashtag Family Fridays BVI and be eligible for a family prize.

Let us restore communities one family at a time. This is an initiative of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and the BVICCHA.

I think that this is a positive initiative. I suggest that keeping the public regularly informed of dates, location and start and fin time using various media, would help to garner support and involvement.
