BRIDGETOWN, Barbados- The Princess Royal was in Barbados to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences. She also met with dignitaries and locals.

The Commonwealth Study Conference was founded in 1956 by Princess Anne’s father, the Duke of Edinburgh. He hoped to create a forum where emerging leaders from different backgrounds could come together to discuss complex social and economic issues.

Princess Anne met with the study group, attended the Caribbean-Canada Leaders Dialogue, and Report-Back Dialogues. She also attended a dinner and a closing reception.

She also went to a reception at the British High Commission Bridgetown to celebrate The King’s official birthday. While there, she met the resident of Barbados, Dame Sandra Mason, and the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley.

To mark the 80th anniversary of VE-DAY, she laid a wreath at the Barbados Military Cemetery and attended a Victory in Europe Day Service. In addition, she attended the 70th anniversary of the Barbados Olympic Association.

Her final engagement was at the Regional Security System and the Barbados Defence Force’s Field Medical Hospital.
