ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– As Christmas 2023 draws closer, Virgin Islands Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has played a part in putting smiles on the faces of children while dressed as Santa Claus, albeit a fitter than usual Santa.

The Premier on Saturday, December 16, 2023, stepped into the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park donning a Santa suit, ready to spark excitement and holiday fun.

“It was such a joy to dress up as Santa and spread Christmas cheer to all the little children,” Premier Wheatley said.

Information from the Premier’s office detailed that with more than enough gifts to go around, lines of children quickly formed to take photographs and receive gifts from Santa. All the gifts were locally purchased!

Fun event for entire family!

“In addition to sitting with Santa, the event also included music, food, face painting, and inflatable bounce houses for the children to enjoy! Foggy Mountain Boys, Zion Sounds, and the Band of Love serenaded the crowd with classic Christmas carols!”

As Santa, the Premier said, “The greatest gifts I have received thus far are the smiles on these adorable little ones' faces and their warm hugs.

“This is a special time of year where our community comes together in love and fellowship, and I encourage us all to see the benefit in giving, sharing, and caring,” he added.

You are sounding selfish or trying to start confusion. The event was for every one and the location of the event was the perfect location. I was there with my daughter and she said she had a great time.

The look of joy on the children faces would have made the most miserable people face lit up.

Satan is Santa. Check your history and stop spreading the folly. This race is a disgrace.

Can’t some of us be nice for a day or pretend to be nice? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU.

Let the comments of the brain washed come through. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON, say it again. STOP teaching our children stupidness. Those children would be happier with a very good education system and the ability to get a bleeding job in the territory when they are done. They would be happier if they know they could look to their parents to provide their Christmas gifts if their parents do not have to be struggling under a broken economy and swamped with bills, constantly choosing between buying food or paying electricity every month. Merry CHRISTmas, NOT SATANKLAUSmaus. Don't care how nice you wrap it up. Folly is folly and it needs to STOP! Stop it!!!

Little girl, do not be fooled. Gifts do not come from a clown in a red suit with white beards. Gifts come from above. Gifts that are free that you should be happy for everyday include the gift of breathing, seeing, smelling, waking up, talking, walking, being forgiven, salvation, the promise of eternal life. Now take these gifts and be the best person you can be in this life. I apologise on behalf of the nincompoops who fail to evolve from the fallacies and ignorance that have shaped who they are today: foolish and ignorant. Cant lead a country to save their life but can find time to play dress up. Strive to be better than them.

Asking people to be wise is not being negative. The country needs to stop being stupid.
