ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) had many reasons to brag when he gave remarks at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) Graduation Exercise at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Apart from being from the Class of 96, which is observing its 30th anniversary this year, Premier Wheatley’s daughter, Kamaria, graduated as one of the top 10 students in the territory.

Adding some humour to his pride, the Premier had some words for women who ignored his advances and maybe crushes as a high school student.

A word to the unwise women!

"I want to indicate to the women who unwisely rejected me in my school days, and I emphasise unwisely, that I made children who are tall, attractive and smart," Premier Wheatley said to much laughter from the audience.

On a more serious note, the Premier shared that there is nothing more satisfying than witnessing the blossoming and potential within our children.

“Parents with young children, accept my humble advice. Yes, we can get our children nice clothes, the latest sneakers, the fanciest gadgets, nice parties and other objects of our affection, but please make it your top priority to give your children the gift of education.

“It will change their life, it will change their trajectory, and the trajectory of generations after them,” the Premier encouraged.

A total of 248 students successfully met all graduation requirements, achieving an impressive graduation rate of 97 percent for 2026.

Yes, proud daddy. All parents' hearts are full of happiness this year. May the road of their futures carry them far, and success follow them wherever they go. Congratulations, students, you did well, and we are so proud of you. One Love.
