Premier Wheatley congratulates 1st cohort of Asia Scholarship Programme

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has congratulated the recipients of the Asia Study Abroad Scholarship programme.

The programme is a three-way partnership between the Government of the Virgin Islands, elite Universities in Asia, and the Private Sector to provide Virgin Islanders the opportunity to study in Asia.

The programme is administered by the VI's Representative Office in Hong Kong which serves as a guide and liaison for Virgin Islanders studying in the region.

The Asia Study Abroad Scholarship programme was established in 2020, by the BVI Hong Kong Office under the directorship of Dr Ricardo Wheatley, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.

The first cohort of the Asia Scholarship Programme are Travis Thomas, Tisa Donovan, Kimberly Cordes, and Adante George.

    Take tax payers money to send them and on the long run they don't come back to surve bvi,how many fund the gov use to send students abroad and they didn't return,in different country they have to return to surve or pay off the founds use to help.

      You people are always blaming the party politics for everything. Get a life for God's sake! All you do is sit up and complain about everything. If you don't like it, why don't you do something about it! The children are not responsible for the funds they get or donot get common sense would tell you that! Duhhh....

    Oh that's lovely NOW THEY WILL GET A REAL EDUCATION ABOUT LIFE. Asia will show them how the world feels bout us. They might respect your intellect but you all in for an attitude adjustment. I simply don't go anywhere in the world that doesn't love me. That is all.
