ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The government of the Virgin Islands expressed deep shock at the sudden passing of Director of Communications Mrs Karia J. Christopher on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Mrs Christopher was a highly respected and accomplished communications specialist, a valued colleague, and a significant contributor to the effective delivery of the government's communications agenda.  

Premier of the Virgin Islands  Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) stated that she will be profoundly missed by everyone, both professionally and personally.  

Wheatley added that her warmth, integrity, and positive energy always shone through, regardless of the circumstances. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Rory, her two children, Hunter and Dakota, her mother, Delrice, her extended family, and her many friends during this difficult time."

Meaningful, impactful & enduring service

Meanwhile, Acting Governor David D. Archer, Jr. remarked that Mrs Christopher’s service to the Government of the Virgin Islands was meaningful, impactful, and enduring. As Director of Communications, he added, she strengthened the voice of government and ensured that clear, responsible, and compassionate communication reached our people. She served with dignity, precision, and an unwavering commitment to the truth. 

"I was privileged to work alongside her in the Department of Human Resources, where she consistently demonstrated excellence, respect, and a forward-thinking approach to the strengthening of our Public Service. She also led the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs, displaying her ability to champion innovation, support economic development, and help the Virgin Islands to deliver excellence in commerce.’’ 

The Acting Governor added, "Her professionalism was evident in every role, and she worked collaboratively with many other government offices throughout her tenure, leaving a positive and lasting imprint wherever she served. Mrs Christopher was also deeply involved in the wider community. She used her talents to bridge gaps, uplift voices, and build trust between the public and the government. Her work reflected a sincere love for these islands and a belief in the potential of every person she encountered."

      As sad as this is. If you all think that all of these deaths or natural, think again. I go reliable information that it used to cost $3000.00 US to see the witch doctor in Haiti or St Marten, business is so good that the Price gone up between 7 -10 Gran, Depends on the request, death make it look like heart attack or Cancer, obeah can do that...Lots of people here fill with envy, jealousy and vengeance....

        A lot of these deaths that you mentioned as the above causes as……… is human sacrifices. Yes, everyone has to die and will die one day but a lot of deaths is due to human sacrifices so others can better themselves. Yes, people here is filled with envy, jealousy and vengeance. Just be careful. You can see a person’s face but you cannot see a person’s true heart.
