Premier reiterates no gay marriage in VI...for now
It was during a press conference hosted by the Premier yesterday July 16, 2015 that he was again asked to give a position on the question of gay marriage in the territory. On Friday, June 26, 2015 the US Supreme Court said marriage for all is a constitutional right, setting off triumphant marches and statements worldwide as it was seen as a victory for the gay community.
"The present posture oh the BVI where gay marriage is concerned is that we recognise that marriage is between a man and a woman," he said.
The Premier noted that if there is to be any change this will have to be based on the will of the people of the Virgin Islands.
"If that is to change, that will change as a result of discussion within the community and eventually a discussion in the House of Assembly," he said.
A few weeks ago Premier Smith had told this news site that the Constitution of the Virgin Islands has a human rights section which he said gives anyone the right to visit the territory as he looked at the tourism impact of the likely influx of gay couples coming in.
“Whatever decision they make about gay marriage in the United States would not affect the visitation of anybody to the British Virgin Islands.”
“There are no immediate plans for further discussions,” he had said.
The Church on gay marriage in the VI
Prominent church leader residing on the sister island of Virgin Gorda, Bishop Paul A. Ricketts declared that he would never perform a gay wedding.
He insisted that the church has to love people in spite of their sexual orientation. “And I am one of those persons who loves people in spite of their struggles,” he said, noting that he does not see the permitting of same-sex marriage throughout the USA being bigger than any other thing that has been passed before.
“They have passed other things that run contrary to my belief system and I don’t see this bigger than anything else,” said Bishop Ricketts, even though noting that he sees it as another “thing” that is being set up for the church to be prosecuted.
“There is coming a time when all of us are going to have to take a stand. We are going to have to either listen to man, man’s law or the law of God and I would rather for man to be angry with me than for God to be upset with me because man can only hurt the flesh, God can destroy body soul and spirit.”
We represent the government of God
Bishop of the New Life Baptist Church Bishop John I. Cline said that people must stand on God’s position on the matter. He added that as a Christian community the church is the church. “We don’t represent the US government or the UK government, we represent the government of God, we represent God and we must stand for the God position no matter what any government says.”
He said, however, that as a church they are mindful of people because in the home and other circles of church members are persons who have declared themselves gay or homosexual. “So we have to deal with those people. We don’t condemn them but we certainly do not condone the behaviour and certainly do not agree with it because it is not consistent with scripture and the laws and the moral standards of Christianity or of God.”

It's not your business. And what the hell if they gay, eh?
Jump on the liars in the town -- that's a sin
Jump on the fornicators in the country -- that's a sin
Jump on the covetous bad-minded people in town -- that's a sin
Jump on the murderers in Balo -- that's a sin
Jump on those who disobeyed their parents -- that's a sin stinking in the schools
Why jump on the gay people? If you condemning sin, then start really jumping all over town because you missing a whole lot of sin -- a bunch of hyprocrites minding people's business.
It is time to leave the gay people alone and stop wearing that ugly frown
It's upon us, and what you going to do when it's in your house too, eh?
Can't we get it, people, the directions to mankind in those books were written by MEN like you who thought they would put in print what, in their opinion, were guidelines for the people of that day. People, wake up and stop accepting those scripture references as something that the Supreme being laid down for you to follow.
We are acting ignorant on this whole topic. We all knew about a man of long ago acting like a real woman -- he never married, he liked to do women things -- it is because there was a genetic mutation in his genes. Why are we hot of this topic of gays?
And in another hand we say God made them fearfully and wonderfully, right? He made that see-see man. Who is going to marry the see-see man but another see-see man. You sending that man to go marry some mother good child just to mess up her life. We need to come to grips with reality. There are people in our country who do not like men and some men who do not like women. If they want to marry who they love, let them be. I tired hearing this talk like loving who you love is a greater sin than them who thiefing, looking woman on their wife, and coveting what other people got.
1 Timothy 5: 22
"...Take no part in the sins of others..."
Proverbs 1: 10
"My Child when sinners tempt you, don't give in."

Romans 12: 19
"Vengeance is mine, I will repay."
It is a global issue, and everyone will state their biblical information.
The Gay life is not understood by many.
Being a gay is base on the genes and hormones.
Being in a man's body but feels like a woman.
Being in a woman's body but feels like a man.
It is a tough debate, but we have to accept.
God's Wrath against Sin
Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
