ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - As the government continues its mandate of testing everyone who visited or reside on the sister island of Jost van Dyke following a possible COVID-19 exposure, Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) said that he too, has been tested for the virus.

"I too recently visited our beautiful island of Jost van Dyke and have ensured that my family and I were tested and our results have shown that we have tested negative for COVID-19."

The Premier made the announcements last evening Friday, July 24, 2020, alongside Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL), in a COVID-19 update to the nation.

He said that it was important that as the head of the territory, whatever policy was mandated for one, must be adhered to by all.

Living & working with COVID-19

"So, let us all continue to remain safe as we navigate the ‘New Regular’ and as we live and work with COVID-19," he said.

Hon Fahie continued, "I am so pleased and thankful to God that as of Thursday, the 23rd of July, 316 samples were collected on Jost Van Dyke between Tuesday the 21st and Thursday the 23rd of July, all of which have tested negative."

Reiterating earlier calls from Hon Malone, the Premier encourage anyone who has recently visited Jost van Dyke to call the hotline at 852-7650 and schedule a COVID-19 test.

Jost van Dyke continues on a mandatory 7-day COVID-19 lockdown until Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

Clearly a case of pure Jealousy and wickedness. Ofcourse the Island people will dislike but call it like it is. What else can it be? God is in control not man. They fail to realize this. Thanks be to God .

COVID-19 do not show up in the body so fast. Contract it today, test tomorrow will give a negative result. The RESIDENCES of JVD and the PREMIER need to retest after 14 days from the first test. Thereafter, you can say with a measure of confidence that you are negative.
