BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Giving the assurance that the Territory has a capable captain steering the ship in uncharted waters, pastor and commentator Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline has said he can personally assure the Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) administration will deliver a comprehensive plan for the Territory moving forward.

"The Premier in the person of Andrew A. Fahie, the man I know, I can assure you [he] has a plan and in due course, he is going to come before this country with a comprehensive plan for how we are going to move forward in the months and even in the years to come," Mr Skelton-Cline said on his show Honestly Speaking on ZBVI 780 AM Radio on April 22, 2020.

Premier knows what he is doing- Skelton-Cline

Speaking with guest host, Ms Shaina M. Smith, Mr Skelton-Cline; a government consultant, said although persons are anxious to hear what economic plans the current administration has in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, he said Government is working to address it.

"I haven't spoken to the Premier privately about this. I'm just telling you the guy I know, the man I know, did not get where he has gotten because he does not know what he is doing.

"Nobody gets where he has gotten being the fool," the man of the cloth said, noting that the Premier is savvy, understands the dynamics of the pandemic and is 'from the street', but he can operate in the boardroom.

"I don't know why some people insist on underestimating the Premier. I don't know how much time he and his team are going to prove some people wrong. This is the man for the hour."

Cabinet approves 'template' of economic stimulus plan

Since the broadcast of the Honestly Speaking show, Premier Fahie disclosed that details of the economic stimulus plan will be shared with the public in short order.

"Please note that Cabinet has already approved the template of the economic stimulus plan. The details in this matter will be made public very soon," Premier Fahie said on Friday, April 24, 2020.

According to Mr Skelton-Cline, the Territory should come together as a whole to ensure the success of the Government under the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We need everybody's hands on deck," he said, calling for those in the Territory with doubts to get off their 'high horses'.

Ur making this thing all about politics and your own benefit...I understand there are alot of people like u.. But as an educated preacher, U should realize that this is excessive..U cant keep locking down Strong and healthy people who have their families to feed...Fahie started off well but its advice from people like u that make him feel like a king, the control of people sweet him,.... There is no need for the lock down at this stage all businesses should be open... its not going to be a perfect start, but we fix as we go along the truth is no matter how long we take to open it wont be perfect, we adjust and fix as we go along...People are responsible they will protect themselves.....

I am not too sure if you are a genuine Virgin Islander or you are just blogging to satisfy some loathful disease that has consumed you. If you are a BV Islander, you are an insult to our forefathers who built this country, not only from shedding sweat and blood here but in places like Santo Domingo, St Thomas, and even as far as Antigua to give us what we have today. They too worked and send money back to the British Virgin Islands to support their families. If you have some form of education, you will understand that Migration and immigrants are responsible for the building of most Nations in the world. As BV Islanders, we are more traveled and educated. In the USA when I tell people I am from Tortola, they refer to me as being from the Islands. Most have never heard of Tortola although a few know about Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. We are not being given special treatment than other persons from the Islands. I do believe that we should preserve our culture and the things that were handed down to us from our forefathers. We must continue to build on the foundation they laid but it should not be done on this embedded hatred we have for others. Anyone who is legally employed here has a legal right to do as they wish with the money they earned.

I am from the USVI, you know what we don’t like or have against you people? You come to another man’s Country and right away you want to take over and bring your bad behavior with you. You con, use and play games to get what you want. Let’s keep it real, you all are here for the American dollar to send back home to your Country free of charge. That 7% is to low of a tax fee, I think 8% should be the tax fee.

It's a pity that you seem to know so little about this territory's history. Not so long ago men and women from the BVI were going through the "window" to work in the USVI, entering illegally because things were so brown here. Not so long ago, the men of this territory went off to Cuba and the Dominican Republic because things were so brown here. What did they have in common with the people you so disparagingly refer to as "down islanders"? They went to work in someone else's country to earn money so that the families they left here in the BVI could be fed. How soon we forget! There's a saying that time is longer than twine -- be careful!

Try living in the US! All Island people are place in the same bucket and most americans will call us all Jamaicans, like it or not. You can keep correcting them until you turn blue in the face and years later they will still call you a Jamaican becuase that is all they know when they think of the islands. We are all God's children and I would hate not to make it into the pearly gates because I kept harboring hatred in my heart for mankind.

    LOL.

Freedom of speech and freedom of the press in the BVI, on this democratic news site, is so sweet, that I am enjoying the many bloggs.

any person who have never resided in the BVI,would believe that there is some kind of racial hatred in BVI between expat and citizens. There is not.

But in realiaty, the country with the most love for each other, are expats and bvi people residing in the BVI.

I had to inform someone in the UK, ["doh mind dee noise from bloggers about expat vs tolian and tolian vs expat, dats just blogging, dem ent hate each other,as it seems.we live together in peace and harmony"]

On a more and continuous serious note,we all must accept, that the right honourable Andrew fahie will remain the premier until he resign or retire.

    One love BVI.

@legal team....But there is! Except the locals are being out smarted by the pople you all call islanders. They chill in the BVI until they get the greencards for themselves and children, then migrate north to the mainland and focus on helping their children develop for the better. In the meantime, my people in the BVI are left behind praticing self hatred. Sad part is that the same thing you all do the expats/islanders you do to your own relatives who left previousy and try to return. If you start working together you will be better off.

Because I confirm to my white uk friends, that we don't hate white people in the bvi,and we don't hate island people in the bvi,my blogging will continue to negate the thoughts of hatred..nationality-hatred is not prevalent in the BVI.
stop faking hatred for each other, its a fake blogging about hatred.its not real in bvi.
all the smiles and politeness I see in immigration office from most of the officers and receptionists and secretaries,at immigration, is not fake, its real receptive welcome and is true appreciation, for all who go to government business to do business.most of the receptionists/secretaries are citizens and they are polite to expats and to white people.at the governors office, all the white people and locals are polite, when you visit.
we all know who born here and who come here, but we all must agree, its not like as though we hate each other over nationality, like how in some countries ethnic division, and religious belief bring hate and blood shed, when muslims and Christians etc are fighting over religion. We don't have that in the BVI.Stop it.
        actions speak louder than words.
for many many years,i hearing nonsense about islandman and tolian blah blah, but still you see citizen, belonger and nonebelonger falling in romantic love, landlord and tenant getting along, employers and employees getting along, tolian visiting caribbean countries, with their friends from down island who reside in bvi, etc and they all are of mix nationality.
all this blogging about nationality fight is false.because blogging is secretive, all of ah you hiding behind blogg names blogging hate,so why everyday we greening our white teeth and dentures, with smiles at each other?is it fake smiles too?
we are not divided in the bvi over nationality in 2020. May be in 1960-1976,when our level of intelligence was much lower.we have graduated from this born here --come here talk.that talk is out of constitution.we all have fundamental rights and freedoms now, whether you born here or come here,we all have fundamental rights and freedoms.
look Premier Andrew fahie make all island people belongers in one big batch, yes a few citizens opposed the fast track, but still,i don't believe that they hate island people

["are you going to say that Andrew fahie hate island people but he only love tortola people?"]

we getting too emotional over people blogging, enjoying freedom..freedom is nice and sweet,so some of us abuse our freedom, and just telling lies on ourselves, portraying hatred for nationality.
but in action,we show true love to each other in the bvi everyday.
stop this hate-talk nonsense,on social media..stop making foooooools of yourselves..

    LOL.

My new blogging style is to LOL.

My dear brothers and sisters, children of god created equally,in the sight of god, stop talking about migration and who come here and leave here and go elsewhere. That's loose bloggs,it ent real talk.

Migration and movements of persons is something historical, and we the people of the bvi, must accept from a historical level that movements from bvi to elsewhere is historical. It's written in the bvi Constitution,of 2007.

I met persons from uk residing in the bvi and i wondered,as why are they in the bvi, when the uk appeared to have more wealth than bvi.

I met persons from the usa, residing and working in the bvi, when usa seems to have everything better than the bvi

And the list of different nationalities goes on and on....

Similarly, many persons from the other Caribbean countries have been coming to bvi to work and reside for almost 100 years. Some marry, have families, some stay, and some usa,and uk and on and on.Migration continues nonestop'

history in bvi taught us that many of our citizens of the bvi went to the Dominican republic [santo domingo] and st thomas usvi and usa, to work and reside, and remained there permanently,to a point, where their grand children and great grand children, can now claim bvi citizenship by virtue of section 2 (2) (d) of the 2007 BVI Constitution:-

The BVI Constitution, states in section 2(2)(d)-

["For the purposes of this constitution, a person belongs to the virgin islands if that person-
is born (outside the virgin islands) of a father or mother who is a british overseas territories citizen by virtue of birth in the virgin islands or DESCENT from a father or mother who was born in the virgin islands or who belongs to the virgin islands by virtue of BIRTH in the virgin islands or DESCENT from a father OR mother who was born in the virgin islands"]

The NDP government, led by dr.d.orlando smith, went to Buckingham palace in march-april 2007,and requested from a majesty the queen,In COUNCIL, to extend citizenship rights to third generation children of born bvi citizens.

    Her Majesty agreed!

So now,the grandchild/great grand child, of a born bvi citizen, whose grandchild was born in santo domingo, who knows nothing about the bvi,can come to the bvi, with supporting birth papers,of great grand bvi bvi father, and say ["Hey,look my papers,my grand father born here,I from here too"]

because the supreme law of the land, has now declared such class of persons, citizens as well..

So,why we bvi citizens and none belongers living TOGETHER in the bvi, fighting against each other, when a person born outside, from bvi under section 2(2)(d) of the constitution, can just walk in bvi and claim rights.

    I say that to say;

["LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR whenever you get a chance to love your neighbor"]

In our hearts-of-hearts, I know we love each other in the BVI.

All this islandman and barn here talk,is just talk. Talking atter nonsense!

I say to persons outside, reading all these racial bloggs,to ["'doh mind dee tark"]

We are a mix nationality, but we love each other [like jealous lovers in the bvi]

    One love in the BVI
