Premier & Dept Premier in London, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley now acting Premier

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – In the absence of both Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) and Deputy Premier Hon Lorna G. Smith (AL) OBE, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) has been appointed Acting Premier and Minister of Finance until May 13, 2023, by acting Governor David D. Archer Jr.

Currently, the Governor John J. Rankin CMG, the Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley, and Deputy Premier Hon Lorna G. Smith OBE are currently in London attending the King Charles III Coronation events, and as such officials in the VI moved to acting capacity also include the current acting Governor, Mr Archer Jr.

Hons Rymer & de Castro also away

In addition, Minister for Education Hon Sharie B. De Castro (AL) along with Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) are also out of the territory in various capacities.  

The Education Minister is attending the World Forum 2023 in London from May 5 to 12, while Hon Rymer is away on personal leave. 

As such, Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith is performing the functions of the Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports with effect from May 5, 2023, to May 12, 2023.

Additionally, Dr the Hon Karl Dawson will perform the functions of the Minister of Communications and Works with effect from May 4, 2023, to May 13, 2023, until the return of Hon Rymer.

    During the 2023 elections the NDP, PVIM, & Shereen told the people Vincent could not hold a Ministry so do not vote for him. Now not only Vincent has a Ministry but he is our Acting Premier. WELL DONE!!!

    Now the only ones who are not holding a Ministry are Shereen and all those who were with her with her mischief. We were told a lot of lies about VIP during elections. TIME ALWAYS REVEALS ALL!!!

      Why both Premier and Deputy Premier went to the Coronation?

      Was one official business while the other on their own personal bill?

      The Deputy was Ag. Premier while the Premier went to the Coronation now the Deputy is at the same event.

      Who told you that? Do you know there are some requirements fir new Ministers to get their briefibgs in UK when there is an election in an.OT? Lord our people nasty with their unresearched and mellay-ish selves. We do not need any more negativity about our country. Let us heal the wounds.       OJ basically said it at his launch in sea cows bay when he referenced Fraser as well, because of the pending project COI concerns. Based on what I see it seems like sowande didn't want Carvin nor Vincent. But how he's structured now he has to use Vincent because the other 2 really green. Why Vincent couldn't hold the same port folio though?

    Congratulations to the V.I.P government for winning the General Election. Contrary to what the NDP was peddling that the British government does not want the VIP in office as the elected government. Shame on you NDP for spreading lies for political gains. God has placed the VIP in office and I hope He will protect them from all harm and danger.
