ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Ahead of the annual August Emancipation Festival in the Virgin Islands (VI), a 'Pre-Festival Calypso Review' is happening tonight, Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Festival grounds in Road Town Tortola.

The event is scheduled to take place at Festival Grounds at 8:00 pm sharp and will cost $20 for entry

Featured artists at the event will include Tino, Queen Shereen, King Paido, Rocky, King Colosso, Queen Makisha and more entertainment.

Regional artists taking the stage will include Destra and the Bacchanal Band out of Trinidad & Tobago.

Efforts to reach Virgin Islands Festival & Affairs Committee Chairman Dirk L. Walters for information on what else persons can expect at tonight's event proved futile.

VINO understands that many booths will also be present at the venue including the popular booth number four ‘Heard in Silence.’

You got people in one breath praying talking about breaking curses over the land and another breath encouraging feting that has lewd behavior with cuss words all up in their language.

Get serious about serving God people not just posting on Facebook for likes.

Can’t call on God’s name while entertaining the devil.

I wish no body goes to this event, dem too wicked.
Doing thing in the village and leaving out the Booth owners and charging them extra for tonight. Set of wicked Tolians. Do know why England don’t just take over this place. Corruption can’t done.

sad how them do the booth owes dirt but i’m sure On The Rox didn’t had to pay a cent to open up because it’s one club. As HBH said he’s writing a book on how the “club rob festival “ it will be a best seller for sure…

I am not a partty pooper but mean the Festival organizers have to do a whole lot better with time. Lastnight the music was very disturbing to wee hours in the Morning for me qnd my Mother who is battling cancer in her last days. No consideratiin at all. 345am music still blasting like the scooter riders. This has to stop.

The Calypso Review was nothing less than horrific. In my humble opinion the Festival Comittee is killing the Festival by cutting out the activities that draw people and make the event attractive. Cannot move forward with this Backward Festival Comittee. I was really lookibg forward to something Grand, as I am sure other people were. But this Backward Festival Comittee drop the ball. Shame on them. Why don't the Minister responsible intervene? It is Our Festival, not Dirk Walters, Stewart Donovan et al.
