WEST END, Tortola, VI- A powerboat was destroyed by fire in West End, Tortola early this morning, Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

The cause of the fire is unclear to our news centre at this time; however, reports are that the fire occurred around 3:00 AM.

The boat fire took place in the area of a laundry and gas station.

The burning boat was then hauled to another location to prevent damage to nearby properties.

Fire officers were on the scene.

There have been no reports of injuries.

    I believe they forgot to turn off their running lights. So after a few hours it caught on fire. A legitimate vessel just doesn’t magically get set on fire. No bad mind around here just good honest hard working people with legitimate businesses and registered vessels.
