Potter triples as Lady Royals sweep Lindenwood!
Potter, who plays for the Pythons domestically and The Lady Royals, cruised to a five inning, 8-0 win in game one then held on late for a 6-5 win in game two. The sweep improves the Lady Royals record to 12-13 on the season and drops the Lynx to 6-13.
In the first game, back to back extra base hits gave Warner a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Heather Knoop blasted a double off the left field wall that scored Tabatha Martin. Jelisa Potter then tripled to right center plating Knoop. Potter was at it again in the third inning when she singled through the right side driving in Laura Lovell.
In the fourth inning, the Lady Royals stretched their lead to 6-0 thanks to another Knoop RBI at-bat and two Lynx miscues. Then in the fifth inning, Lovell connected for a two-out triple that scored Martin and Shannon Cataldo ending the game 8-0.
Knoop went the distance in the circle for the Lady Royals and was dominant. In five innings pitched, Knoop (5-8) held the Lynx to a pair of singles and just four total base runners. She also struck out four batters.
Tabatha Martin, Laura Lovell and Jelisa Potter each recorded two hits in the game. Martin scored two runs while Lovell and Potter each had a triple.
In game 2, the Royals opened up game two with three runs in the first inning. Laura Lovell opened the scoring by advancing home on a wild pitch. Tiffany Porter followed with a two-RBI single plating Heather Knoop and Tiffani Upchurch.
Warner’s offense then broke a two-inning scoreless streak with a run in the fourth inning and then took the lead in the fifth inning when Stefani Bonilla singled up the middle to score Jelissa Potter and Yaileen Milian.
Potter has so far played 21 games, starting 17 of them, and has an average of .224. She has 11 runs from 11 hits, recorded 2 doubles, a triple and 5 RBI.
The Lady Royals jump back into Sun Conference play this weekend with games on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6. Friday’s double header against Northwood University begins at 1 P.M. and Saturday’s double dip against St. Thomas University will also start at 1 P.M.

you dont need lights to play softball, just show some discipline by turning up to play on time. play some games and do something- cos right you is just a waste of time and is called a field not a court
