‘Police wanted to search my house without a warrant’- Marcus Lloyd
According to Lloyd, Police allegedly had no warrant to search his home but yet insisted on doing so, however, he flatly refused.
“They were trying to manipulate me and see if I was going to let them search the house.”
According to Lloyd, he then decided to call all his family members, to see what the police were allegedly up to.
“I told them ayo going have to murder me, cause yall aint going no way with me. It look like they wanted to do that. This is why I called the media because I have to let the public know exactly what is going on with me.”
Llloyd alleged that family members approached the police to check the warrant and it was revealed that it was made out for a ‘Mr Cornwall’.
‘They were trying to frighten me’
“They very well knew who the warrant was for but it was like they were trying to frighten me so I would let them search my house.
“They were trying to Taser my dog. They came here like bad men with guns, a set of bullies. I said I aint coming out of my house and I had some obscene language for them,” Lloyd told Virgin Islands News Online.
As he has previously indicated, Mr Lloyd said he still fears for his life and is of the firm conviction that there are persons in the RVIPF who wants to harm him.
He said he has been seeking to reach his lawyer to get advice on this latest incident.
Police Information Officer Diane Drayton had promised a response from the RVIPF this morning but none was received up to time of publication.
Fearing for his life
In an exclusive interview with this news site on Saturday May 7, 2016 following his May 4, 2016 acquittal on charges of murder and manslaughter, Lloyd, called ‘Yeyo’, alleged harassment by the authorities while incarcerated at Her Majesty's Prison at Balsam Ghut, saying that he was subject to searches and was denied proper meals.
Lloyd had been jointly charged with Wakeem Guishard and Mitch Christopher for the murder of Daren Allen ‘Tiger’ Hodge. Star witness in the case Terrence Abdullah Charles had pleaded guilty in 2011 for the murder and received a reduced sentence of 20 years in exchange for his testimony against the other three accused in the case.
Guishard and Christopher were also acquitted of murder on May 4, 2016.
Speaking to this news site, Lloyd maintained his complete innocence and said he was the victim of an elaborate scheme to frame him.
“Right now I fear for my life because I feel the police gon want to kill me,” he said. “I tell my lawyer that I going for an insurance so if anything my children could get it,” Lloyd had said.
The RVIPF had subtly invited Lloyd to put his complaints on record so they could be investigated.
“There is an existing recognised and functioning complaints procedure in place by the RVIPF to address persons who feel that officers have acted outside the laws of this Territory. To date, we have no complaints on file from Mr Lloyd whether formerly or otherwise on this matter,” the RVIPF had said in response to our inquiries.
