Let's not act surprised. Scooter riders ARE allowed to do a lot of foolishness on the road, they zip pass you at the stop lights, create havoc IN (Yes inside)the playground by chapel hill side, they take over beef island on holidays and weekends etc. And we choose to close our eyes when SCOOTERS were used to gun down our citizens.

I now see why some people does take matters in their own hands. They could have called the station and had the road blocked by the school and if the got pass them , they could have blocked off by the tamarind trees by the station and horse path. They don't think, only to put people business on the street after a report is made. So sad
    • time (20/02/2022, 09:50) Like (4) Dislike (0) Reply
It would not have made a difference if they had called as officers usually take at least an hour to respond even if the station is just two minutes away. Simply put…the officers would not have responded in time.

Because you don't enforce the laws at the basic level, the scooter riders will now ramp up their lawlessness to new levels. You see them riding without helmets and you do nothing. You see them without license plates and you do nothing.

They are now bold enough to run the stop lights. And now one of them is riding against traffic. Is this what it takes?

The Parent watching this knows that's their son..They must know their sons.. I will say this. Bike running traffic lights is a norm 8 out of 10 bikers run through traffic lights daily... No Helmet on either of them head riding in this reckless manner is a more serious concern. This is also blatantly no respect for the police and other Road users. Throwing their young lives away..

This is wrong on so many levels. #1 the guy is an idiot, case closed. Hes lucky the last time someone drove the wrong way on a bike up the highway he died, no case at all.

#2 How do you expect to catch murderers if you cant catch this one jack donkey who probably continued to drive right past the station, with no mask on. ....... Plus arent those stop lights supposed to have cameras in the middle of town? isnt that a license plate on the back of that scooter? Im baffled.

There is no one in position thats our problem. You know how those police in the states catch people? They have cruisers in place ready & watching for traffic violations. Its as if they bought two big bikes for nothing.

When the chase & shooting on the highway occurred years ago the victims tried to flee right past the station. How many times does this have to repeat. Foolishness continually occurs in front the stations East station, West station, town station you name it... The officers are inside glued to their seat oblivious to the crime.

Oblivious to the scooter riders popping wheelies on the station strip, forcing traffic to stop while doing dohnuts in front of cars. The schools & businesses seem to have more observant security. Is it so hard to build a armored shed and place a 'lookout/first contact' officer with a police bike outside of each station?

Who knows if this guy had a gun on him to cause him to be this desperate. Bet its stashed already we will never know.

@ disappointed, I love the song that u are singing but I am pretty sure if something is being put in place where these officer and really get to do what is necessary to stop these recklessness and dangerous, then someone is to get hurt maybe it might one of your own then friend or family, @disappointed then you and the rest the BVI would be singing the different tune! Have a great day

They're already out there hurting themselves & traumatizing the people they hit into. The list of incidents is too long. One gets airlifted while the person they hit gets no air time.

Look at that incident with the helicopter chase. They hit land & sped past the station twice. UP the rode and back down. Our police reactions are a joke to the point there is no deterrence. As to the police getting hurt if they're not built to serve, protect and get paid appropriately with benefits then they should not be in that type of unit.

If they dont catch start catching people in broad daylight much worse will happen I dont want to see it get to that point.

One of the principles of a Police chase is reason for conducting the chase in the first place. Things to consider before doing so ; What offense(s) did the person commit? Is so serious (felonious) that it is important to chase? Is there another way of identifying of apprehending the person( in this case it is clear identity is not known) Time of day, would the chase cause unnecessary risk of injury or death to the Officer(s) the public or even the suspect? The Police appeared to stop the chase at the right moment but the key is "think before pursue"

Kishorn Leslie remember Food and Robbie. I know you mean well and your Supervisor will pat you on your shoulder and tell you how well you are doing but if one of these scooter riders is to fall, get killed or injure a member of the public that pat on the shoulders will become a slap in your face. Young man do your job well think smart!

Put some Onus on parents..This scooter situation is getting out of control. Getting worst...All the signs of a dangerous future is there.

The police won’t do anything. Twice I’ve been at those lights in the past week when a scooter or a car has jumped a red light with a police truck next to them. They didn’t do anything either time. Just sat at the lights and watched them do it.
