ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Criminal Investigations Department has reported a significant increase in the number of non-residential burglaries on Tortola since the beginning of the year, compared to the same period last year.

According to a press release from the force, Acting Chief Inspector Kendolph Bobb, head of the department, said that the increase has been significantly influenced by incidents at businesses, storage facilities, and construction sites, where valuable tools and machinery are often kept.

“In response to these concerning trends, residents are advised to mark their tools for easy identification. Individuals are also advised to record serial numbers, photograph, and securely store items.”

The force added that business and residential owners are also encouraged to ensure that their property is properly secured, and surroundings are well-lit and consider installing alarms and CCTV cameras.

The release added that the public's cooperation is crucial in our fight to combat crime. Let us work together for a safer community for all.

Persons with information on any crime are being encouraged to confidentially call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 (TIPS) or, if located overseas - 1-284-800-8477 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

Its to be expected as the town on a busy day is nearly empty. Everyone is at work all we are missing is the tumble weeds.

I had a bunch of stuff at an apartment I rented from my former landlords, the Stoutts in 2018. Since then they never brought it or otherwise arranged to have it brought to a friend on Tortola, after I left in October 2018. More recently in a rare phone call directly to one of the landlords, she said she knew nothing about any property or possessions of mine at her or her sons house where I rented at north west Tortola. My friend still lives on Tortola and when the particular Stoutts I speak of see her, they pretend she isn't there. I sent hundreds of communications to the RVIPF about this as well as other parts of BVI government. No answers. So I do consider my posessions to be stolen. Not a word from the police, so I consider them accomplices. No one else had the music equipment I had either. Some Kurzweils, a Korg MS2000 other recording equipment and family stuff as well. so why havnt the police gotten my stuff back? Why do they ignore all communication. EH?
