ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Officers of the Major Crime Team are making a one-week anniversary appeal for any information that can help in identifying the perpetrator or any persons connected with carrying out last Friday’s double homicide.

Police in a release today said, “At approximately 8:30 on the evening of October 21, shots were fired close to or around the Wayside Bar in Fat Hogs Bay resulting in the deaths of Kawa Cornwall and Kadeem Frett. Two others were injured and hospitalized in the incident.

The Major Crime Team has now released a poster to coincide with a walk-through of the crime scene last evening, October 28, 2022, at the same time the shooting took place last week in hopes of gathering information from persons in that area to help with the investigation.

Reward being offered

“A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible. The families of the victims are also assisting in these efforts,” the release said.

The force noted that in light of the recent murders, Commissioner of Police Mark Collins also made his own appeal this week for the public’s help in exposing illegal points of entry and the firearms distributors.

He noted that the RVIPF confiscated over 75 firearms with a semi-automatic assault rifle, a Glock pistol, and an imitation firearm seized just a month ago in a series of search warrants carried out on premises in Baughers Bay, Purcell Estate and Great Mountain,” he said.

The Major Crime Team is encouraging witnesses or persons with information about the murders to come forward and provide that information. Persons can contact the Unit at 368-5682 or RVIPF Intelligence Unit directly at 368-9339.

$20,000 is a decent amount to catch up on pending bills and pay rent for a few months. I’m calling my paid street informant from the streets to see what’s good and what’s cooking up in the pot.

$20,000 is a lot of money when you can hardly eat or pay your rent. For real, someone needs to claim that money. Someone knows who pull the trigger. Go get your money. Don’t deny yourself or let a piece of scum walk around holding 20 grand hostage from someone who can use it. The Holidays is coming up and lots of us can use 20 grand. TURN THE SCUM IN.

That’s Moff’s turf. As a big turf man he know who did it. He should be the first to set an example by rooting out all bad apples not just Government Official’s only.

NAWWWW, $20,000 is more than enough money to turn in a killer, don’t go down the path of greedy now. I could use that reward money. At least one day I would like to go to the grocery store and not have to deny myself certain things because of the extremely high food prices. I don’t know or saw who pull the trigger but if I did, I would have been the first one on line to collect that 20 grand for turning in a killer.

Them Rock City boys is not to be messed with. I’m keeping S**t real here, how many dudes from here went down to ROCK CITY to do business, had their stash taken and got shot up at the same time. Those Rock City boys move like the gangsters in the US. You BVI boys can’t go up against those Rock City boys.

It shows that you don't keep up cause a 100k reward was offered after the 2017 shooting in west end. So, if people didn't want to collect on 100k right after the hurricane, why would anyone be interested in 20k now? Reward or not, i pray ALL the killers are caught.

Check out the smart language...A reward of up to $20.000:can be $1000.00.. Why is everyone think they so smart.. The language should be "A reward of $20.000. for the capture and conviction of the murderers... Cut out the word "up to". This the kind of smart language that turns the public off.. #honestandreal.

identify yourself while collecting your reward. When popo meets you with criminal gained money off to jail you go but Babylon is very free to spend those criminal proceeds dollars- it is good to see rewards being offered hope it reduces crime

Keep your money and let the Popo do their work. A force full of Officers and you mean the C.I.D Division, the Forensic Division, the Armed Division, the Criminals Division and the Community Policing Division can't perform a thorough investigation. by first interviewing witnesses and by bystanders in and around the establishment.

"$20,000 ain’t worth the stress of street retaliation."

Keep that up and you will regret taking a lazy stance to the destruction of your home when you have to go out searching for loved ones because innocent people getting killed left & right.

A lot of people are not scared in the slightest. If I knew who did it id be skipping to the bank. As far as street retaliation goes who ever the shooter is has it coming, clap back that's how street retaliation works. The shooters goose is cooked one way or another I can smell it already.

I dont know about you but I will fight for my country and its security.

While you want us to cower in fear we are a people that will fight when there is no hope look to the slave rebellion's for proof.
