Police and Customs Seize Over $300,000 Worth of Cannabis at Airport
ST. JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda- The Police and Customs seized a large quantity of cannabis during a joint Drug operation at the V. C. Bird International Airport on Tuesday.
During the operation, Two (2) cardboard boxes with fifty-two (52) vacuum-sealed packages of the controlled drug cannabis were discovered in the Cargo Shed.
The packages were seized and transported to Police Headquarters for further processing. The substance amounted to fifty-two (52) pounds, carrying an estimated street value of $312,000.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The Police Administration remains committed to working alongside its local and regional partners in the fight against the illegal drug trade, which continues to pose a threat to the safety and security of our communities.
