PURCELL, Tortola, VI - Purcell Outreach Impacting Neighbourhood Team - Overcoming Negative Expression (POINT ONE) is a youth oriented group in its infancy stages that exists in the community of Purcell and according to its president Mr Addison "Addi" Nisbett is not just for Purcell youths.

“POINT ONE is a group that is for all and sundry. If you are a youth then you are free to come and be a part of POINT ONE, and that is something we want the wider community to know, we are not limited to the 6th District either,” he told his news site in an interview yesterday December 29, 2014.

At the time of the interview Nisbett and his other group leaders had pulled off yet another successful event namely the ‘Youth Rap Session’ with facilitators including Luciano, Kamau A. Georges and Sistah Joyce. “We are thankful to the GRATE BVI Music Alliance for allowing us to spearhead this part of their yearend promotion,” said Nisbett.

“We are a group that came on board on March 29, 2014 with about 10 young people in the community. We just want to try to do our best especially with the youths. We realize that a lot of youths are going downhill and we are just trying to do our best as a community to get to these kids…We basically want to give back to the community especially where the youths are concerned,” said Nisbett.

Among the activities that the group has been meaningfully engaging youths in are basketball classes, after school and vocational programmes to name a few.

He said that as a group they will continue to explore every possibility to have youths get the kind of message that is necessary for keeping them on the right track.
