Planning ahead for possibility - Skelton-Cline
‘What if, in the not-too-distant future and/or coming to this election, that the United Kingdom through the [UK] Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Current Government comes to a conclusion that there will be no elections for whatever reason,” he said.
He questioned that should the elections not be held by the constitutionally due period, the people of the VI ought to be planning heading about the way forward and the possibility of a suspension of the constitution to stall the elections.
“There must be a plan for what might be the reaction of the people of this country if come 2023 we cannot exercise our democratic right for a constitutionally due elections,” he added.
Skelton-Cline underscored that that territory must therefore take a ‘telescopic view’ to issues and the possibility of delayed elections.
