ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Planning for the third Women’s Empowerment Summit is winding down and coming just two short weeks after the recent general elections, is proving to be very timely, according to a release from the organizers stated.

The event will provide a great outlet for women to rejuvenate and to be inspired by leading speakers from around the region, the Virgin Islands and the United States.

With a revised format, this year’s summit promises to be a lot more engaging and informative, with in depth discussions on issues pertinent to both the personal and professional development of women. The print version of e Woman Magazine will also be launched at the event, featuring the morning guest speaker, Cecile de Jongh.

Mrs. de Jongh, wife of Governor John de Jongh of the United States Virgin Islands sat down for an in depth interview with journalist Chrystall Kanyuck back in August, sharing her insight on the role of the Woman in a changing Caribbean environment and we hope to continue that conversation at the summit on Saturday, November 19, when she will be interviewed by Tana’ania Small- Davies.

The Women’s Empowerment Summit, formerly the Women of Power Summit, is a most coveted event, catering to the needs of women in order to build a more sustainable society. The 2011 program covers the gamut of women’s issues, from balancing work and family life, dealing with office politics and learning to effectively use social media platforms for both personal and business applications. There are giveaways, motivational speeches, entertainment and the Humanitarian and Business Woman of the year awards. This year’s event also features a relaxation station, exhibition booths and the ever popular makeover station.

With a list of thirteen prestigious speakers and performers, including Laura Malamud-Social Media Expert, Teshina Pettiford-Financial Guru and Cherrylee Pinder-Motivational Speaker, a dynamic program and an amazing hostess in the person of Mrs. Marylou Creque, this year’s summit will certainly leave attendees, inspired and rejuvenated.

Registration begins at 7:30 am and the event begins at 9:00am sharp.

Gracious sponsors, Road Town Wholesale will host a wine reception immediately following the event at 5:30pm.
