Pirates are Fast Pitch Champions!

- beat Reds 14-7 in Game Six to take series 4-2

ROAD Town, Tortola, VI – Allen ‘Woodrow’ Smith led the Pirates to a 14-7 win over the Reds in Game six of the best of seven BVI Softball Association Championship series on Sunday September 6, 2015 to ensure the Pirates were crowned 2015 Champions.

Having lost game five on Friday September 4, 2015, it was do or die time for the Reds and they had little answer to the powerful Pirates who scored their 14 runs on 9 hits, 4 errors and left 6 runners on base.

The Reds had 7 runs, 9 hits, 2 errors and left 5 runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Smith and the loser was Warren Brooks.

Akeem Francis of Reds went 2-3 with a double, a run scored and 2 runs batted in and Jerry Gooding went 2-3 with a double, a triple, 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.

Tramore Frazer of Pirates went 2-4 with a home run, a run scored and 5 runs batted in, Rico Penn went 1-3 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in and Nikos Penn went 1-2 with a home run, 3 runs scored and 3 runs batted in.

Pirates won the series 4 games to 2.

This was the final game of the 2015 season in which Pythons and Pirates emerged as champions in the female and male divisions respectively.

The BVI Softball Association would like to say thank you to the participating teams and their sponsors and the fans who showed their support with their presence at the games.
