Pier Park seeking to implement transportation dispatching service
Once implemented, only drivers who are registered with the service will be eligible to operate when cruise ships are in.
This was revealed in a Request for Proposal sent out by Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) today, Friday, August 4, 2023.
“Tortola Pier Park Ltd. (TPPL) is requesting proposals for the provision of taxi, transportation and dispatching service at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park (CBRTPP). TPPL invites tenders from suitably qualified Companies as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security measures and improve visitor experience.”
‘System of choice for implementation’
TPPL added that the “Semi-Closed system” has been identified as the system of choice for implementation.
“It is an operational procedure whereby the number of taxi/tour operators is not limited,” TPPL stated.
Among the items that must be furnished with the Proposals is a list of a minimum of 75 drivers who will be attached to the service or company.
TPPL said the “list of drivers will be eligible to operate only as part of the Company when a ship is at Berth.”

All of you know who are conning the system and port and their security system are allowing the system to be like how it is. Ports weak stop shifting from your problem you cause a lot of these problems.
Evaluate port and the pier park then let the taxi drivers find common ground. You are to heavy handed on drivers.
