Pickup truck flips after brake fail on Windy Hill

CARROT BAY, Tortola, VI- Two persons were lucky to escape injuries after the vehicle they were in suffered a brake fail while descending Windy Hill in the Great Carrot Bay area this afternoon, June 16, 2026.

According to reports reaching our News Centre, a pickup truck was proceeding into Carrot Bay via Windy Hill around 5:00 PM when it encountered braking issues, forcing the driver to steer the vehicle into the hillside in the area of Bannakeet Restaurant.

The maneuver resulted in the vehicle toppling.

The driver of the pickup truck and another occupant managed to escape the mishap unharmed.

The lone-vehicle accident caused a major backup of traffic.

Police were spotted on the scene conducting investigations and they also prevented any vehicle from getting past the area of the accident due to "safety reasons".
