PHOTOS of the Day: Ducks steal the show in Parham Town!

January 10th, 2022 | Tags: ducks Parham Town eighth district sewage garbage
It is unclear if there is an active duck farm in the area; however, it was certainly an attraction to witness a group of ducks waddling around in the Parham Town area of East End on January 8, 2022. Photo: Team of Reporters
PARHAM TOWN, Tortola, VI- Our roving camera on the way from East End, on the main island of Tortola, on Sunday, January 9, 2022, observed a group of ducks waddling around in the Parham Town area.

There were a few on the side of the road and others adjacent to the roadway.

It is unclear if there is an active duck farm in the area; however, it was certainly an attraction to witness.

Perhaps residents and visitors to and from the airport will have something pleasant to marvel at rather than sewage and garbage at times in the Eighth District.

Animals carry the virus as well so please to save my granny. Catch it and mask it because I doubt it took the vaccine much less the boosters !

They are so beautiful, what a welcoming sight. The one on the far right blends right in with the flowers and greenery.

While the article speaks of the ducks you are out of order with the later part of the article. That issue is longstanding and should not be apart of this article. You are out of order, other people may not tell you so but truth is truth find another heading to address that subject.

When is it an appropriate time to discuss the truth? More importantly who gets to decide? I had the misfortune to travel to the eastern end of the island for the holiday season and I was horrified by the condition of both districts. Why are Virgin Islanders allowing their villages to become run down ghettos and engage in righteous indignation when its highlighted?

I am convinced people who live past Paraquita Bay have an internal snapchat that filters out the run down buildings, the garbage and sewage, and the overall sense of moral decay. I am equally convinced they do not visit the north shore of the island. They cannot have any other examples to compare their village to.

One of these duck was killed on Sunday... I passed it on the road in front of the church on Sunday... Seems like it was struck by a vehicle..
We live in such a cruel society..

All of them NEED to be KILLED! There are 2 known duck owners in East End area in the vicinity of Red Bay and The Sound road. Why it is that only this one owner always has his ducks long the road wadding in sewerage, eating people trash. If they can’t tend to animals they don’t need to keep them. Your animals shouldn’t be a pest to people shitting Infront your door etc.

The East side looks and smell like a ghetto. I don’t know why people get mad when this is mentioned. Drive in from the airport or on your way to the airport and see how raggedy the East side look.

In my humble opinion I think the Eastern side of the island needs bigger bins and roll on roll off bins. The population is huge and it does not have enough waste bins. Need to have specific days and time for bulky waste removal. Not everyone would be able to hire a truck every time.

Or government can seek ways to implement a small fee for bulky waste. May be that can help hire more trucks and personnel.

I must also state all of us through this territory needs to be more mindful of how we dispose of our waste.

Agree with your comment. But also, we have folks living amongst us that don't give a rat's behind how the Communities looks because they deem not to belong.
