PHOTO of the Day: Home for VG resident 'Andy' Ham close to completion

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Thanks to some $20,000 raised through GoFundMe, a home for Virgin Gorda resident Anderson Ham aka 'Andy' is being realised.

The photograph provided shows concrete being poured for the roof of the home on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. The previous building was knocked down and a new structure placed on the same foundation.

Mr Ham's home, like many others, was destroyed by Hurricane Irma in September 2017.

The fundraising effort was initiated by Virgin Gorda resident and businessman, Mr Allington O. Creque aka 'Gumption'.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration and Ninth District Representative Hon Vincent O. Wheatley continues to applaud the commitment of volunteers and others involved in the humanitarian project.

I’ve been seeing this young in the news lately and did a bit of digging. I’m not easily impressed but I have to admit that this young man is doing something special. The BVI should be proud of having a guy like Gumshion.

The two people who dislike what seems like Mr. Creque wrote need to go get a life. Creque seems to be very unbothered. Keep your head up Mr. Creque keep doing good.

It is good to see neighbors helping each other in such difficult times, however, I am annoyed when people post every "good deed" they're doing.

@candi I feel you! I solved that by (not following the person or page) Yet also possible it’s selected deed posted vs every single one?? We should let people be them “just saying”

@candi you can always message me directly, I don’t bite . But I share most of my key projects for 3 reasons.

      (1) to dilute most of the negative things within our community.

      (2) most of the people who actually support and donate to just about all my projects don’t live here and by posting they can see the Transparency. That’s something we’re lacking. They appreciate the updates etc.

      (3) I also share with hope of inspiring people even like yourself. However sometimes just sometimes if you see someone who is of good but struggling in other areas do reach out to that person. I can only be as good or decent as the community around me.

But I do have other projects that’s not public and probably won’t be but I am an entrepreneur and i am a businessman most importantly I am Me.
