HARRIGAN’S ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Two vehicles said to be travelling in opposite directions along the main road in Harrigan’s Estate, on the main island of Tortola, collided last evening May 27, 2016 resulting in a number of persons being taken to hospital.

When this news site arrived on the scene at around 8:20 pm, ranks of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were carrying out their investigations and questioning the persons concerned with each of the vehicles involved in the accident.

One officer confirmed that an ambulance had minutes before left the scene with injured persons en route to Peebles Hospital.

A female rank said she was part of a unit which was passing at the time and saw the accident scene with other officers already present and they stopped to render assistance.

When this news site left the scene both of the vehicles said to be involved were still there, with officers and other persons trying to ‘bounce’ one of those vehicles from off the roadway into the corner of the road.

More bad driving ends in accidents. If we respected the traffic laws and if they were enforced, there'd be fewer accidents and less people in the hospital.

@Really you got part if we respect and obey the law then there is no need for enforcement. Law was made for law breakers

The Harrigan road is a disgrace, crumbled to one lane, soon residents might have to fly home. I often come head to head with traffic, in 30years i cant recall any maintenance at all.
